The glittering Sunset Strip is no stranger to the glamour of the silver screen, and now a new campaign launched by the West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau and the city’s Film Office ensures that it is even easier for production crews to showcase this legendary boulevard in film, television or music videos.

The newly launched Film West Hollywood campaign was designed to promote filming in the city by connecting location managers with West Hollywood’s venues, making it easier and more convenient for productions to choose West Hollywood for feature length films, television series, music videos, still photography and commercials.

“West Hollywood has been used as a backdrop in television and film since the early days of cinema, and this new program will help ensure the city’s A-list status among location managers and directors,” said Brad Burlingame, President & CEO of the West Hollywood Marketing & Visitors Bureau.

The centerpiece of the program is a new website, www.filmwesthollywood.com, which highlights businesses interested in pursuing filming opportunities. More than 125 businesses have already signed up, including landmark hotels on The Sunset Strip, iconic restaurants, swanky nightclubs and retail establishments.

In addition to promoting local businesses for filming, the Film West Hollywood initiative will also keep location managers informed of the latest incentives and programs launched by City of West Hollywood’s Film Office. For example, the City’s Film Office is expected to offer reduced filming fees for low impact film production later this summer.
