0 The popularity of the The Sunset Strip’s (@thesunsetstrip) Tweet Crawls over this past year, [club crawl + Twitter community], have grown so much that now The Strip has decided to throw a Holiday Party for their followers. This time the Tweeps can celebrate along America’s most notorious Boulevard with an evening of events and special offers at several of the businesses, all while donning their favorite Holiday attire – ugly sweaters encouraged.
“Nothing gets us in the holiday spirit more than partnering with our neighbors for another Tweet Crawl,” noted Rachel Hunter, revenue manager at The Standard, Hollywood. “We want this Tweet Crawl to be ‘stupid festive’ and we’re encouraging participants to dig out their most obnoxious holiday gear: Santa hat? That’s good, but it’d be much cooler if you dressed in a complete head-to-toe Santa costume. Sweater with a tree on it? Great, but how about some working lights on that tree? We will be pulling out all the stops, so join us at for lots of goodies, good times, and a chance to win a complimentary stay The Standard, Hollywood.”
Tweet Crawl III: The Strip For The Holidays (#StripCrawl) is set for Friday, December 18 starting at The Standard, Hollywood (@standardhwood).
"The Tweet Crawl has been an amazing way for businesses to come together and create community and goodwill,” noted Alf Lamont, marketing director at The Comedy Store. “It’s only natural that during a season where giving back to the community and celebrating your fellow man is traditional, we should invite our closest Twitter followers to our venues for some food, drink, comedy, and rock and roll."
Here is the schedule for Tweet Crawl III: The Strip For The Holidays (#StripCrawl):
6:30 – 7:30 p.m. The Standard, Hollywood (@standardhwood)
Meet poolside – with heaters – at The Standard. For all you parking Scrooges, have no fear! The Standard is offering a flat rate of $8 parking for the whole night if you are wearing your Tweet Crawl buttons. Festive beverage and food specials will be available, and The Standard will give away a free night’s stay during the crawl.
7:40 – 8:15 p.m. The Comedy Store (@TheComedyStore)
$4 well drinks as well as inexpensive holiday shots on our heated patio and indoors. The country’s best Rag Time pianist Mr. Jeff (Mayor of Who-Ville) Scott will entertain as amazing and Tweeting comic Ari Shaffir (@Arishaffir) is introduced.
8:15 – 8:30 p.m. The Sunset Strip (@TheSunsetStrip)
We hoof our way up The Strip, with 98.7 FM (@987LA) marching along, spreading their own holiday cheer with concert tickets, DVDs and other special prizes. Tinseltone Carolers (@Tinseltones) will join as well, delighting with a-capella carols.
8:30 – 9 p.m. Citysearch (@CitysearchLA)
We’ll stop by Citysearch LA’s offices for food and refueling with food from Dukes (@DukesWeHo) and beverages from PBR (@PBR_LA). Special prizes given to those who write reviews of their favorite Strip locations.
9 – 10 p.m. The Viper Room (@theViperRoom)
A festival of lights for the ages. Spinning Dreidels and Spinning DJs await, as gelt and drink specials warm the heart and body.
10 – 10:30 p.m. The Hustler Store (@hothustlerhoney)
Will you be naughty or nice when you receive the promotions that they have in store? 10:30 p.m. – 12 a.m. The Roxy Theatre (@TheRoxy) Join us as we create gingerbread house versions of our favorite Sunset Strip staples, enjoy holiday themed drinks, sing renditions of our favorite holiday jams and karaoke the night away with some holiday and classic hits at On The Rox! Participants are reminded to drink responsibly , don’t drink and drive and should utilize public transportation, taxi service or a designated driver.
