On the heels of this past weekend’s recognition march for the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, Book Soup will be hosting actor/author Eric Bogosian (best known for his work on Law & Order) for a signing and discussion of his new historical recounting of Operation Nemesis: The Assassination Plot that Avenged the Armenian Genocide.  Event starts at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.

The Roxy Theatre presents a sold out show with the much buzzed about, alt-folk project Waxahatchee.  Doors open at 8 p.m.


Wednesday, Apr. 29

The landmark Whisky A Go-Go presents legendary L.A. Guns founding member, guitarist Tracii Guns.  Doors open at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $15 GA.

Darkwave rockers Julien-K (feat orignal member of Orgy and Dead by Sunrise) celebrate the record release of their latest opus “California Noir,” with two back-to-back shows at The Viper Room (May 1 & 2).  Doors for both nights open at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $20 GA or buy a discounted $30 2-day pass.


Saturday, May 2

Celebrate the 2nd annual California Bookstore Day at The Sunset Strip’s very own rock n’ roll reading room, better known as Book Soup (think Record Store Day but for book nerds).  Enjoy complimentary refreshments, giveaways and exclusive limited edition literary offerings.  Event starts at 9 p.m. and continues throughout the day.

And from books to brawn… This Saturday night, both Rock & Reilly’s and State Social House will be hosting boisterous viewing parties for what’s being touted as “the bout of the century” – Pacquiao vs. Mayweather.  The punches start flying at 7 p.m.  Contact your favorite Sunset Strip spot for RSVP and admission details.


Sunday, May 3
