Critically acclaimed rock and roll musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," starring Donovan Leitch, returns to The Roxy Theatre  for a week-long residency November 1-7. The show first premiered at The Roxy in 2006 and was a tremendous success and received rave reviews from Variety and Los Angeles Times. Tickets are on sale now with a portion of the proceeds going to The Trevor Project, the leading national organization for crisis intervention and suicide prevention amongst LGBTQ youth.

Adapted from the 1998 off-Broadway musical written by John Cameron Mitchell, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" is the story of an East Berlin boy named Hansel who undergoes a sex change operation after falling in love with an American G.I. Years later, Hansel (now Hedwig) ends up in the United States, leading her rock band on tour and telling the story of her life through a series of concerts at Bilgewater Inn Seafood Restaurants.  The musical has been performed worldwide numerous times and was also released as a successful film in 2001.

This live musical performance features monologues about Hedwig’s childhood, his journey to the U.S., his marriage to Luther, and the story of Tommy Gnosis. This latest stage interpretation at The Roxy will again star Donovan Leitch (of Camp Freddy) as Hedwig and Kristin Lee Kelly (of the original stage production) as Yitzak, Hedwig’s back-up singer and whipping boy.

"This is my third time playing Hedwig and each time it is a transformative experience for the audience as well as myself,” says Leitch. “It's the greatest rock musical since 'Rocky Horror Picture Show.'"

The 2006 run attracted the likes of Scott Weiland, Kelly Osbourne, Danny Masterson, Mark McGrath, Milla Jovovich, Juliette Lewis, Dylan MacDermott, Taryn Manning, Paris and Nicki Hilton, Ricki Lake, Ione Skye, designer Henry Duarte, rock band Incubus and more.

Tickets range from $30-$45 and are on sale now through Ticketweb.
