Rock out for a good cause tonight at the Whisky A Go-Go when The Strip’s own Steel Panther plus special guests, Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X & The Drills and the Barb Wire Dolls, all take the stage to raise awareness for childhood leukemia.  Doors for this benefit event open at 6:45 p.m.  Admission is $45 GA with other various meet & greet/VIP options available for purchase.


Tuesday, Aug. 18

Tunesday – Skybar’s summertime acoustic music series returns this week, with a live performance by The Grand Southern and DJ sets from The Gentle Giant and Ziska.  Doors open at 8 p.m.  RSVP for admission.

Each and every week, head to the Cactus Lounge inside The Standard Hollywood for an intimate, living room style, acoustic jam session, better known as Desert Nights.  This week don’t miss performances by Justine Bennett, Cody Crump, Kathleen Smith and as always, your host and curator, KCRW’s own DJ Valida.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.  Admission is free to all.


Thursday, Aug. 20

UK indie/dance rockers Bloc Party hit The Sunset Strip for a one night only sold out show at the landmark Roxy Theatre.  Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Also happening this Thursday, The Ceviche Project returns to Skybar at Mondrian.  This special monthly pop-up dining experience spotlights five unique seafood based variations, served along with handcrafted cocktails by DeLeón tequila.  Cost is $125 per person.  RSVP


Friday, Aug. 21

The Roxy Theatre presents a sold out show with 90s alt rock pioneers Dinosaur Jr.  Doors open at 8 p.m.

And just across the street, The Viper Room welcomes back the much buzzed about industrial outfit 3TEETH, along with special guests PlackBlague, Human Traffic and Deathface.  Doors open at 9 p.m.  Tickets are $10 GA.  This show will sell out!


Saturday, Aug. 22
