0 Good news everyone! There are just a couple more weeks of construction left to go. The final round of paving is set for this Thursday, July 22 and Friday, July 23. This is the final rubberized asphalt layer and it reuses old car tires that would otherwise go to landfills.
After paving, the final traffic striping will be installed. A crew will install the traffic paint on the road to create the lines and markings on the road. Due to traffic impacts, and since this process is not loud, they will do this work at night.
The final sidewalks and curb work will be completed within the next week. The contractor has a few locations that will be fixed and will be complete with the concrete work. The contractor will also continue to work on the new medians at the west entrance to the City.
During working hours, traffic lanes will be reduced down to one lane in each direction. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during the construction and temporary lane closures. This project has created or saved 228 jobs.
