SUNSET STRIP ROCK DIVAS STRUT THEIR STUFF

SUNSET STRIP ROCK DIVAS STRUT THEIR STUFF

Two of The Sunset Strip’s sexiest and most ferocious female rockers—Jodie Schell (photo 2), frontwoman for The Shakers, and Candice Levinson (photo 3), guitarist for Warner Drive — have been playing (and singing) circles around many of their male musician contemporaries as their respective bands take the regional rock circuit by storm, selling out shows wherever their spike-heeled stilettos step foot.
Gearing up for two very hyped, headlining shows at the world famous Viper Room, these stage sirens recently took a break from grueling rehearsal schedules to do a little window shopping at The Sunset Strip’s home furnishings flagship, Diva Rocker Glam, and interview each other, swapping stories and comparing notes on what it means to “play like a girl.”

THE STRIP’S HOTTEST NEO-NOISEMAKERS GET A TASTE OF THE NEW PINK TACO

Last week some of The Sunset Strip’s most innovative up-and-coming talents explored the newly opened Pink Taco to sample their delectable Mexican fare and thirst quenching blended libations.  The bands: I Will Never Be The Same (photo 2), Battle Tapes (photo 3), and ROMS (photo 4), are all part of a newly rebirthed electro/industrial/dark wave scene that seems to be thriving amidst the recent mainstream success of bands like M83, and the always evolving and ever relevant Trent Reznor (NIN).

Linkin Park Breaks Out The Hits At House Of Blues Fan Show, Benefitting Power The World

The always busy Sunset Strip was filled with even more excitement on Friday as chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning rockers Linkin Park returned to their L.A. roots and took over the House of Blues for an exclusive fan club performance.

The show sold out as soon as it was announced, attracting a packed house of fans who were treated to an amazing set — and encore — by the band. The lucky attendees also helped support a good cause, as a portion of ticket sales and proceeds from a silent auction benefitted Power The World, a nonprofit that aims to provide 1 million families in Uganda with access to sustainable energy.

Best known for his role as “Kevin Myers” in American Pie and the just released American Reunion, the band that bears Thomas Ian Nicholas’ name, is not just another one of those actor vanity projects.  With a following built off the sweat and toil of hundreds of live shows, and three full length records, the Thomas Nicholas Band (TNB) is “the real deal!”

Before heading to tonight’s show at The Viper Room, catch up with this true blue actor/rock n’ roller as he candidly discusses his new flick, getting tossed out of bars, and why his band doesn’t suck.

So you got a lot going on right now with the band, the movie (American Reunion) and everything else; you’re just all over the place?
