Sunset Construction Update: June 8-14

Sunset Construction Update: June 8-14

If you haven’t noticed, we’ve got some serious, heavy duty work going on up here on The Strip. And while we’ve really got to know and love the bulldozers, we’re happy to note that the construction is almost finished! Just one more month until the entire stretch of The Sunset Strip – from the border of Beverly Hills to Havenhurst – is repaved and all the sidewalks are fresh and clean. (By the way have you seen the new EXTENDED sidewalks in Sunset Plaza?! Super spacious outdoor dining perfect for the summer months – or really any time of year in Southern California.)

Work this week on Sunset includes fixing sidewalks and curbs, striping the lanes and traffic markings on the street and installing new storm drains.

Hollywood Prom With Spazmatics @ Key Club

Hollywood Prom With Spazmatics @ Key Club

Ah, prom. The puffy dresses, the crosages, the dancing, the uncomfortable portraits. Eighties new wave cover band The Spazmatics brought the memories back to life Sunday, June 6 with their version of Hollywood Prom. Luckily for us, intrepid photographer Brent X Mendoza was there to capture all the lace-and-taffeta fun. Did we mention that "Saved By The Bell"’s Mr. Belding (aka Dennis Haskins) hosted the party? Now that’s a prom memory we wish we had in the yearbooks.

You can catch The Spazmatics live every Sunday night at the Key Club. Check out KeyClub.com for ticket info and times.
