House of Blues filled The Sunset Strip with a firey spectacle this week as the national concert venue celebrated 20 years and 20,000 performances with a fireworks display, celebrity party and concert featuring ZZ Top.
Blues Brothers Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi reunited for the Dec. 4 event and set the stage for a massive fireworks show outside of the iconic venue. After the show, guests were treated to a performance by ZZ Top, Flogging Molly and Deer Tick inside the venue.
The event kicked off a 20 month celebration, which will also include 20th Anniversary concert tours with a portion of ticket sales from these concerts benefiting the International House of Blues Foundation's "Action For The Arts" program, which encourages creative expression through art and promotes cultural understanding.

House of Blues Sunset Strip will continue its annual tradition of providing Thanksgiving meals to those in need this year by participating in "Feed the Souls," a nationwide campaign to provide 20,000 meals across all 12 House of Blues venues.
In celebration of House of Blues 20th anniversary this year, House of Blues Sunset Strip is holding a food drive now through Nov. 19. During this time, non-perishable food items can be brought to the Box Office, and in exchange of gratitude, patrons will receive a voucher good for 10% off at Crossroads at House of Blues restaurant or to use in the company store.
The food drive will benefit food kitchens, shelters and charities throughout Los Angeles, including Children’s Lifesaving Organization, Westside Coalition and Love Lifted Ministries.
This Thursday, Oct. 25 legendary music producer and musician Peter Asher will sign a 10-foot-tall art guitar celebrating the impact of British culture on rock and roll and The Sunset Strip. The guitar, which is part of Gibson GuitarTown on The Sunset Strip, was created by artist Todd Williamson.
The signing will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Sunset Strip Market, located at 8755 Sunset Boulevard, and is open to the public.

Critically acclaimed rock and roll musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," starring Donovan Leitch, returns to The Roxy Theatre for a week-long residency November 1-7. The show first premiered at The Roxy in 2006 and was a tremendous success and received rave reviews from Variety and Los Angeles Times. Tickets are on sale now with a portion of the proceeds going to The Trevor Project, the leading national organization for crisis intervention and suicide prevention amongst LGBTQ youth.
It’s October, which means the countdown to Halloween is officially on. In celebration of the most “spirited” day of the year, The Comedy Store is hosting a Haunted Midnights tour and show Wednesday nights beginning October 10-24.
Guests are invited to join the legendary venue for a rare peek into the dark side behind the laughter at this famed building that is known as one of the most haunted buildings in Los Angeles. The Comedy Store has played home to murderous mobsters, lost souls and restless spirits for nearly a century. Going back to the days when 8433 Sunset Boulevard was Hollywood hot spot Ciro’s, many an unfortunate soul has gone to his untimely death here and then never gone anywhere else.
Tomorrow, in celebration of the Sunset Strip community and LA Beer Week, The Roxy has curated a night of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, music and craft beers at the weekly Thursday night Sunset Strip Market. So in addition to shopping the amazing California farmers and local artisans, you can enjoy a selection of grilled cheese sandwiches with 90% of produce and ingredients sourced from the MRKT as well as a handpicked selection of seasonal craft beers and performances from three amazingly talented local bands.

Maximillian Gallery has launched a unique street art T-shirt campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for a new project that places amazing art from top street artists on limited edition shirts. Participating artists include DeeKay, Andy Appleton, Septerhed, Felix, Smear, Gregos & Listak.
“These are the street artists at the epicenter of the street art movement,” noted Maximillian Gallery’s founder and director, Caradoc. “Artists and fans are eager for these T-shirts and we are excited to launch our line…via this Kickstarter campaign.”
