A Liquid Tribute To Film

A Liquid Tribute To Film

Who said Los Angeles lacks seasons? We’ve got fire, “rainy” and perhaps the most coveted: Awards. While the rest of the country shovels snow, we’re getting ready to toast and celebrate our favorite films of the year.

And what better way to celebrate than with an assortment of Oscar and awards season inspired drinks? The Standard and The London West Hollywood have upped the ante with an assortment of must-try cocktails available now through Oscar Sunday, March 7. So grab your glass and get ready to drink your cocktail, drink it up! (Apologies for the 2008 reference.)

The London West Hollywood’s lavishly prepared awards season-themed cocktails are priced at $16 each and include:

Eastbound and westbound lanes will be reduced to one travel lane during work hours (Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). At the end of the day lanes will be reopened to two lanes of traffic in each direction.

This week the contractor is continuing to work on replacing damaged sidewalks, driveways and corner ramps on the south side of the street. Any affected driveways will be temporarily inconvenienced with steel plates installed to allow for access.

There has been some great progress with a lot of the concrete work on the north side of the street now complete, and many of the ramps at the corners complete.

Only 25 more days until thousands of runners take the streets for the Los Angeles Marathon. This year’s race spans 26 miles from Dodger Stadium to the Santa Monica Pier and tests the age-old stuck-in-traffic declaration: "It would be faster to walk than drive across this city."

The Sunset Strip is happy to welcome participants to miles 13 and 14 of this memorable course. Run where old Hollywood elite like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Cary Grant played. And where The Doors, The Byrds, Led Zeppelin, Zappa and countless others performed.

Explore a car-free Sunset Strip and check out landmarks on this stretch, including the Sunset Tower Hotel, Andaz (‘Riot Hyatt’), Chateau Marmont, The Comedy Store, Viper Room, Sunset Plaza, Whisky A Go-Go.
