Tom Green @ The Comedy Store

Tom Green @ The Comedy Store

What can you expect at a Tom Green stand-up performance? Prop comedy? Audience ridicule?  Outrageous Jackass-esque stunts? Before the Dec. 29 show began, the bowels of The Belly Room at The Comedy Store were abuzz with speculation and anticipation as to what possible unpredictable antics the shock comic had in store.

Having made his mark hosting/producing MTV’s “The Tom Green Show” and "The New Tom Green Show" during the late ’90s/early 2000s, Green developed a reputation for his too-far-isn’t-far-enough brand of off-color humor; performing over-the-top skits such as drinking from a cow’s teat and pretending to hump a dead moose. It was infamous stunts like these that sent Green’s popularity skyrocketing, but it was also this reputation that explained the reluctance of Comedy Store patrons to sit towards the front of the stage at the launch of Green’s World Stand Up Comedy Tour.

Ozzy And Slash Back On The Strip

Ozzy And Slash Back On The Strip

Yesterday iconic rockers and previous Sunset Strip Music Festival honorees Ozzy Osbourne and Slash returned to The Sunset Strip for a mega-guitar signing at the House of Blues Sunset Strip. The ten-foot tall art guitar was created by local photographer and artist Nic Adams to celebrate Ozzy’s long career. The guitar is part of the GuitarTown public art exhibit, which features 25 additional guitars placed along the 1.6-mile boulevard.
Legendary DJ Uncle Joe Benson from KLOS was on hand to introduce Ozzy, Slash and Adams to the crowd of fans.
The signing also served to kick-off the second leg of Ozzy’s U.S. tour, which launches at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles on Feb. 1. Ozzy’s longtime friend and musical collaborator Slash will open the show.
The large art guitar sculptures will be auctioned for charity this fall. For more information about GuitarTown, visit www.gibson.com/sunset-strip.

Cheap Date On The Strip With Tuesdae

Cheap Date On The Strip With Tuesdae

Being Bev Hills adjacent and known for some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment in the world has led some to the false conclusion that The Sunset Strip is strictly a playground for the wealthy and well-to-do. Au contraire! Happy hours, meal deals and cheap cocktails abound at some of The Strip’s most happening hot spots every night of the week.

For a little camera pleasing eye candy, and mainly because she knows how to party, Chelsea Girls vocal goddess and professional party girl Tuesdae spent the night walking, dining, drinking and partying on The Sunset Strip with notorious blogger Brent X Mendoza and photographer Genie Sanchez, showing the world that there are discounted cocktails and top-notch cheap eats to be found and that you don’t have to pay to play on The Strip.

Get Ready To Scream: Ozzy Returning To The Strip For A Mega-Guitar Signing

Get Ready To Scream: Ozzy Returning To The Strip For A Mega-Guitar Signing

It’s been two years since we honored rock legend Ozzy Osbourne at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, and we’re happy to welcome him back to The Strip this Monday, Jan. 10, when he signs the custom, 10-foot-tall art guitar created in his honor as part of The Sunset Strip’s GuitarTown.

The signing takes place at 2 p.m. outside of the House of Blues, where Ozzy performed this past June to a crowd of his biggest fans. Rumor has it that he may even bring one of his close friends to the signing.

Ozzy’s guitar was designed by local photographer and artist Nic Adams, who has photographed bands from Rage Against The Machine and Beck to Run DMC and Iggy Pop throughout his career. The “Prince of Darkness” guitar uses photographic imagery and a modern design to celebrate Ozzy’s iconic status.
