Moving Units’ Blake Miller: Shaking Assets On The Sunset Strip
For more than 10 years now, Los Angeles-based Moving Units has brought their brand of fevered indie dance rock to the booty shaking masses. The recent release of the band’s third LP, Neurotic Exotic, finds frontman and Moving Units founder Blake Miller reasserting himself as the sole member of the “group,” having broken away from the other original players.
Speaking with TSS.com, Mr. Miller brought us up to speed on his newly single musical status, reminisced about his teenage Kate Moss infatuation and shared his envious passion for women’s figure skating outfits.
The recently released Neurotic Exotic is the first Moving Units album sans the other original members. How did the song writing/recording process differ?

This Saturday, the man responsible for penning such Goth rock essentials as “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and “No New Tale to Tell” returns to The Sunset Strip spotlight for a one-night only intimate engagement at The Viper Room. Of late, the cult icon has been keeping his musical docket plenty full with the recently released reworking of his classic Bauhaus anthem, as well as a myriad of other side-projects.
Speaking to TSS.com about his upcoming show, the current status (or lack there of) of Bauhaus and reminiscing about jukebox jammin’ with David Bowie, Mr. David J seems to have no shortage of New Tales to Tell.

The 2013 round of 10-foot tall Gibson guitar art sculptures that have lined The Sunset Strip will end their tour on Friday, February 21, 2014, when they are auctioned for charity at a gala event at Bonhams in Los Angeles. This is the third installment of the annual public art project, and all proceeds from this auction will benefit Music For Relief, the nonprofit organization founded by members of Linkin Park to support disaster relief, provide aid to survivors of natural disasters and support the prevention of such disasters via environmental programs.
