RH Partners With Santa Barbara’s Trattoria Mollie For “Chef Swap”

No, it’s not a new reality TV show from Fox. “Chef Swap” is a unique dining experience that is sure to bring delight to the hearts and taste buds of Los Angeles food lovers.

Beginning this Thursday, Dec. 2 through Saturday, Chef Sebastien Archambault from RH restaurant will swap kitchens with Chef Mollie Ahlstrand from Trattoria Mollie in Santa Barbara. The chefs will create tasting menus showcasing dishes that have made their restaurants favorites among foodies and critics alike.

During Chef Ahlstrand’s residency at RH, guests will be treated to Italian fare that helped distinguish Trattoria Mollie as one of National Geographic’s “Ten Best Destination & Special Restaurants in the World.” Menu highlights will include crostini ai funghi, ossobuco con verdura and panna cotta.

For those looking to take a break from cooking all of the food, Sunset Strip restaurants have you covered with various Thanksgiving menus and options – from brunch and late night to traditional and gourmet dinners as well as all you can gobble buffets. BLT Steak presents traditional and gourmet menu options for Thanksgiving. Choose from an appetizer, main entrée, sides and dessert for $68 per person. Entrée choices include roasted turkey with chestnut-sausage stuffing, cranberry grenadine sauce and rosemary gravy; dry-aged roasted prime rib with confit garlic jus and caramelized onion bread pudding; or lightly smoked salmon with American sturgeon caviar and green apple nage. RH at Andaz West Hollywood is launching a weekly DJ session every Thursday night, starting Nov. 18. The sessions include drink specials (a weekly $9 “riothouseREPLAY” cocktail, $7 beers, $12 seasonal cocktails) as well as gourmet bar bites priced from $6-$9 (options include portabella mushroom sliders, duck drumette confit, macaroons). Cheech & Chong Return To Their Sunset Strip Roots

There’s no such thing as an ordinary Tuesday on The Sunset Strip. Yesterday, Nov. 16, was a testament to this fact as iconic comedy duo Cheech & Chong rolled up to The Roxy Theatre to sign a 10-foot tall art guitar created to celebrate their careers. A surreal and fun mid-day break indeed.
The larger-than-life guitar was created by award-winning artist Margaret Garcia as part of GuitarTown Sunset Strip, a public art exhibit that features 26 guitars placed along the boulevard.
Cheech & Chong started their career performing in West Hollywood’s The Troubadour as well as The Roxy Theatre (which was featured in “Up In Smoke”) and The Comedy Store. Each side of the guitar is dedicated to a portrait of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. The guitar also pays tribute to The Sunset Strip’s role in developing comedy as well as music.

Cheech & Chong To Light Up The Strip Again

Cheech & Chong are returning to The Sunset Strip on Tuesday, Nov. 16 to sign a larger-than-life art guitar created to celebrate the internationally comedy duo. The painted guitar is one of 26 10-foot replicas placed along The Strip as part of the Gibson GuitarTown public art project. The signing will take place at 2 p.m. outside of The Roxy Theatre.

Lady Sinatra Vs. Volcano Dolls: It’s Ladies’ Night In Hades

When you think of “ladies’ night,” chances are that the Viper Room is not the first place that pops into your head, which is why you can rest assured that their version of the female-friendly promotional hook is sure to have a bit more attitude than your usual pink cosmo affair. Tonight’s “Ladies’ Night In Hades” features two of The Sunset Strip’s favorite bands – Lady Sinatra and Volcano Dolls – as well as twists on the traditional drink specials and, of course, free entrance for bad girls.

Pleather, Suds, Soy Dogs: LA Vegan Beer Fest @ The Roxy

Last Saturday, Nov. 6, friends of animals and friends of delicious beer alike came together for L.A. Vegan Beer Fest at The Roxy Theatre. The unlimited pours of craft beers were flowing from breweries including Stone Brewing Company, Eagle Rock Brewery, Ballast Point, Bootleggers Brewery and Lagunitas, among others, while food vendors served up meatless, vegan versions of pub fare, including jalapeno poppers, hotdogs, nachos, burritos and chocolate cupcakes. The afternoon event also featured performances by The Paul Chesne Band, Owl Acid, Holland Greco Trio, Ease Up and The Makepeace Brothers, as well as a private VIP tasting room located at On The Rox.
